A Must-See Fall Event Near Mesa.

The internationally recognized outdoor public-art event Canal Convergence is back this November, and if you live in the Mesa area that’s excellent news. From November 7–16, 2025, Scottsdale’s downtown waterfront will transform into a glowing, interactive art experience filled with light installations, performers, workshops—and it’s just a short drive away. Canal Convergence

As a longtime resident of Mesa and a top  Realtor specializing in luxury homes, I love events like this because they showcase what makes our region so appealing—vibrant culture, walkable destinations, outdoor lifestyle and easy access to Scottsdale, Mesa and beyond.

Here’s your guide to making the most of Canal Convergence this year, complete with what you should bring, what to expect, and why it’s worth saving the date.

🎨 What to Expect

  • Large-scale, immersive light-based artworks stretch along the Arizona Canal between Scottsdale Road and Goldwater Boulevard.

  • This year’s theme: “SHOWTIME”. Performance meets art—expect dance, music, live shows and installations that invite play.

  • Free admission. Evening hours tend to run roughly 6 – 10 p.m. on weekends and around 6 – 9 p.m. on Sunday-Thursday.

  • Family-friendly with food trucks, beverage options, seating areas and plenty of photo ops.

✅ Last Year’s Highlights & Why It’s Worth Coming

In 2024 the event featured installations like “Molecules,” “Gaiascope” and “Phase Change” that used water, light and reflection to create interactive experiences. Visitors loved how the canal itself became part of the art—reflections on the water, illuminated sculptures, and the backdrop of Scottsdale’s waterfront made for unforgettable evenings.
One local wrote: “The Scottsdale Waterfront came alive—art, music, the water shimmering—it was like magic.” If you attend this year, you’re in for something just as memorable (if not more), especially with the “SHOWTIME” performance-driven theme.

🎒 What to Bring & Tips for a Smooth Visit

  • Comfortable shoes – You’ll walk along the canal pathway; light jackets might be needed if it gets windy.

  • Phone or camera – The installations are made for photos and videos.

  • Water bottle or reusable cup – Stay hydrated, especially if you’re exploring multiple nights.

  • Cash or card – For food trucks, vendors or quick snacks nearby.

  • Plan parking early – Use free parking garages in Old Town Scottsdale to avoid crowds.

  • Arrive before sunset – The full effect hits after dark, but early arrival gives you good vantage spots and fewer crowds.
